FULL TIME POSITION OPENING

ASSISTANT TO THE ENGINEER

DEFINITION

Under the direct supervision of the Engineer, performs engineering duties to support planning, design, and inspection of Iowa County secondary roads.

DUTIES

The following are a list of duties that are required but not limited to:

• Planning,
• Surveying,
• Estimating Project Costs & Quantities,
• Submitting Enviromental Permits,
• Bridge & Roadway Design,
• Drafting - AutoCAD Civil 3D,
• Inspection of Bridge & Roadway Projects
• Material Testing

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology plus equivalent experience
• Applicants should have or be able to obtain Iowa DOT Certifications (PCC, HMA, Aggregate, etc)
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

OTHER

Must be Legal U.S. Citizen, have valid Driver’s License, and clean driving record.

Position will be based out of: Engineer’s Office in Marengo.

Regular Hours are: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday.

Salary: $75,000 - $100,00.  (Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.)
